Privacy notice

How SHARE Italy processes the personal data of visitors to this site.

Controller and person responsible for the site

SHARE Italy is the Italian national research group taking part in SHARE-ERIC. This site is run within the “Marco Fanno” Department of Economics and Management of the University of Padova.

The person responsible for the site and contact for the processing of personal data is Prof. Guglielmo Weber — guglielmo.weber [at] unipd.it.

We take the protection of personal data seriously and process it confidentially, in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), Italian Legislative Decree 196/2003 (Personal Data Protection Code), as amended by Legislative Decree 101/2018, and this notice.

What data we process and why

The site does not require registration and has no data collection forms. We only process the browsing data generated automatically by your visit (see server log files) and, if you write to us, the data you give us in your message.

The legal basis for processing is the performance of a task carried out in the public interest, related to research and the dissemination of its results (Art. 6(1)(e) GDPR). For analytics cookies the legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code).

The data of people taking part in the SHARE survey is neither collected nor processed through this site.

For details on which cookies we use, what they are for and how to manage them, see the Cookie policy.

Essential cookies are needed for the site to work and do not allow you to be identified personally. Analytics cookies are only used if you choose “Accept all” in the cookie banner; you can change your choice at any time.

Server log files

The site is hosted on servers of Aruba S.p.A. When you visit a page, the server automatically records some information, such as the IP address, the date and time of access, the pages viewed, the referring site and information about the browser and operating system.

This data is only used to deliver the service, detect and fix faults and defend against attacks. It is kept for a limited period and is not combined with other data sources.

E-mail messages

If you write to the addresses published on the site, we keep your e-mail address, your name and any other information you provide only to answer your request and any follow-up questions. We do not pass them on to third parties without your consent, unless required by law.

Third-party services and external links

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to analyse site traffic in aggregate form. This may involve transferring data to non-EU countries, with the safeguards provided for by the GDPR.

Some video thumbnails may be loaded from YouTube. The site also contains links to external sites (for example SHARE-ERIC, YouTube or research partners’ sites), which have their own privacy notices.

Disclosure of data

Personal data is only disclosed to others where required by law or to the competent authorities for prosecuting attacks on the network infrastructure. No other disclosure to third parties takes place.

Rights of data subjects

You have the right to access your personal data and to obtain rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and portability (Arts. 15–20 GDPR), to object to processing (Art. 21 GDPR) and to withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal. These rights may be limited by the exceptions provided for by law.

To exercise them you can write to Prof. Guglielmo Weber (guglielmo.weber [at] unipd.it) or to the Data Protection Officer of the University of Padova.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, the Italian Data Protection Authority (Garante per la protezione dei dati personali) (Piazza Venezia 11, 00187 Rome).

Data Protection Officer

For general information on the processing of personal data and the contact details of the Data Protection Officer, see the University of Padova notice on the processing of personal data.
